These terms apply to commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning services provided by Expert Exhaust Cleaning in Sydney, NSW, and to the use of this website.

Quotes

Quotes are based on the information you provide and, where applicable, an on-site survey. A quote states the scope of works — the canopies, duct sections, risers and fans included — and the fixed price for that scope. Work outside the quoted scope, including access panel installation not identified at survey, is quoted separately and never carried out without your written approval.

Quotes are valid for 30 days.

Site access

You are responsible for providing safe access to the areas being cleaned, including roof access where the discharge fan is serviced. Where a building manager, strata or centre requires contractor documentation, we supply insurance certificates, safe work method statements and technician certifications on request before attendance.

If we cannot access a system at the agreed time, a callout fee may apply.

Scope of works

Cleaning is carried out to the standard set out in AS 1851 for the sections within scope. Duct sections that cannot be physically reached — typically because no compliant access panel exists — are excluded from the clean and from the certificate, and are identified in writing in the service report.

We do not certify sections we have not cleaned.

Compliance documentation

Following each clean we issue a dated compliance certificate, before and after photographs at each access point, grease depth measurements and a written defect report. These are included in the quoted price and are issued within one business day of completion.

A compliance certificate records the condition of the system at the time of cleaning. It is not a warranty of future condition, and it does not substitute for your own obligations under your lease, insurance policy or council conditions.

Defects and repairs

Where we identify a defect — a worn bearing, a missing access panel, a non-compliant discharge — we photograph it and report it. Repairs are quoted separately. We do not carry out repairs without your approval.

Payment

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due within 14 days of invoice. Accounts for scheduled maintenance clients may be arranged on different terms.

Cancellation

Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule a booked clean. Cancellations inside 24 hours may attract a fee reflecting crew time already committed, particularly for overnight bookings.

Liability

We hold public liability insurance and carry out work with reasonable care and skill. Our liability is limited to re-performing the services or refunding the amount paid for them, to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

We are not liable for pre-existing defects in a system, for damage arising from non-compliant installation, or for loss caused by a failure to clean at the interval recommended in our report.
